That’s why, as a native of this state and someone who cares about Arkansas communities, our firm’s founding attorney applauds recent news that the Arkansas community college system will receive a $4 million infusion to boost educational opportunities for people going into the skilled trades.
The money comes from the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services, and “will be used to support the development, or expansion of, work-based training programs within the industries of advanced manufacturing, health care, information technology and the skilled construction trades,” according to local media reports.
This development pleases us as lawyers and as citizens of Arkansas because we know that all too often, accidents involving premises liability or construction sites occur because, among other reasons, someone lacked appropriate training or qualifications for the job they were doing.
